On September 11, 2001, over 3000 Americans were killed by Muslim Terrorists in a combined attack on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, DC. As we continue to fight Fundamental Islamic Terrorism internationally, it is appropriate to remember and honor those whose lives were lost in that heinous attack sixteen years ago.
On September 11, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya, the eleventh anniversary of 9-11 attacks in America, the U.S. Mission and CIA Annex were attacked and overrun during a well-coordinated attack by Islamic terrorists. That attack resulted in the tragic deaths of four Americans: Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. According to Dr. Dan Eichenbaum, one of the event organizers and the ride coordinator, “It’s a time to remember the brave men who sacrificed their lives in service to their country and a time to reflect on the betrayal that will forever define the government’s response and lack of assistance to the deadly events of the evening of Sept 11, 2012.“
The Sons of Liberty Riders has been active in commemorating the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya. “Telling the story of government betrayal and honoring the memory of Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods has been a priority for us,” says Dick Shaughnessy, the NC President.
This is a FREE event. There are no registration fees or charges for the riders or drivers. The public is invited and welcome to attend. There will be an opportunity for donations. The Sons of Liberty Riders (SOLR) is a national organization whose mission is to unite patriots for the cause of liberty with chapters throughout the United States, including North Carolina and South Carolina, and Georgia.
