James and I are home safely (and dry, too) in Murphy, NC, after an incredible experience in Cullman, AL, with our Brothers and Sisters of AL-SoLR.  Cullman to Murphy = 200 miles.

You guys put on one great event.  The ride was a truly a unforgettable and remarkable experience.  The food was unbelievable, too.  Y'all are to be congratulated for a fantastic weekend.  I am looking forward to more NC-AL SoLR events and will post some pix as soon as I figure out how to get them off my cellphone!

We are gearing up for our 6th Annual Benghazi-Twin Towers Memorial Ride and Event this coming Saturday September 15 and expect a good turn out.

God Bless y'all and Be Safe.

Don't forget that there will be a District 1 and District 2 meeting on Saturday August 25th. It will be at 9 a.m. at Freddy's in Cullman. We will be finalizing details for the September ride. If you have door prizes, please bring them to the meeting. The last day that I will be accepting door prizes for the ride will be Saturday September the 1st. I will be organizing the door prizes that weekend and making signs.

If anyone has any ideas or questions about the ride, please be prepared to do this on Saturday.

After the meeting, there will be a fun ride. I'm not quite sure where, but I'm sure Brian or Joe can fill you in. See y'all next Saturday

Don't forget that August 25th is a Combined District 1 and District 2 meeting. 9 a.m. at Freddies. This is our last meeting before the veterans ride in September. We need as many members at this meeting as possible. We have final details to nail down, and we will have sign-up sheets for job duties for the ride. Also, if you have any door prizes please bring them to the meeting. The sooner I have the door prizes, the sooner I can get everything organized. All door prizes will need to be given to me by Labor Day weekend. I will be doing all of my organizing, and sign making during that long weekend. I have some flyers at home. If you need any between now and the next meeting, please let me know and I will be happy to meet you somewhere. thanks everyone for all that you do.

Papa Joe

Hope to see y'all at our Flag Day event June 16.  Suggest you stay close to the area (Hiawassee or Blairsville GA or Murphy, NC) in one of  the hotel choices I sent you.  Dillard is really far away and any $ savings will be eaten up by fuel and time.  If you will be in Murphy area Friday night, let's meet up for dinner.

I will try to get to the September 8 event in Cullman.  I may be riding back from Seattle around that time.

Save September 15 for our 7th Annual Benghazi-Twin Towers Memorial Ride.  Same route and location as the June ride.

The least expensive hotels are 45 minutes away in Dillard Ga. If you want to make a vacation of it, go to the Dillard house for a mini vacation.

Absolutely fantastic.  Here is a list of hotels in the area with distance to start of ride and from final event.  They are listed by location and in order of quality in general.  If you choose hotels in Murphy, I will meet you in the morning of the ride and you can all follow me.  We also have a new Cherokee Casino in Murphy with a hotel if anyone is into that.  I have never been there, so I don't know what it's like.

If you come in in time for dinner Friday, we can make arrangements to eat together.  Ask for a group rate at the Hampton Inn or the Holiday Inn in Murphy and use my name (it may help or hurt !!).

Here is the list:
