Well, I figure if the first bearing lasted nearly 34,000 miles, when the time comes to put in another I'll probably have another machine anyway....depending on finances, of course.

We're going to try to sell my sedan...we just don't need two cars any more, so that'll be a break in insurance and tax payments.

The way the mechanic explained it to me, cruisers are rarely steered. Most of the riding is on freeways and when most of  your turning is by leaning, the balls in the bearing tend to stay in the same place and wear small grooves into the inner ring, so when you really want to steer the tendency is for those balls to stay put and you have no control over where you point the front wheel. He showed me the old bearing and the grooves were definitely there.

I can accept repairs as part of owning a bike, but Murphy's law is immutable. Yesterday we got a $350 shock when we took our cat to an emergency pet hospital in Gilbert, a 40 mile round trip since nothing was open here in Maricopa. You'd think Bernanke would give ME some of those billions he gave away to the banks.

  3. Read the by-laws, participate in the chat, reply to articles, and learn the ropes of how the site works.
  4. If you have a question post it in the chat room.  Someone should be able to answer it for you there.  If not contact your state leader or post it as a Discussion.
  5. Have fun and get involved politically!  While we are mostly "riders" many are not and our mission is POLITICAL 1st.....

We do have shirts available.

Back Logos are only available through your State President.....they will explain...and work with new members on "how" you go about getting one.
