Terry, that Wounded Vet Ride in Macon that Jesse & Jennifer Shouse organized was the one that when I went out to leave, the bike battery was dead. If you remember, we found out 3 or 4 weeks later that it wasn't charging because my stators were dying on me. The next thing was the state meeting just below Macon. Remember my lights kept going dim, and I ended up having to get a jump start, and a new battery. After that was the Cycle World ride. When it came time to start lining up, mine wouldn't start and I sat there and watched 500+ bikes pull out with out me. I don't remember who it was, but I finally got a jump start to get me going again, and 3 more times to get home.
The next day, I took it to my mechanic in Roswell and he figured out that my stators were now completely dead.
But, back on subject.....
Last year, the Wounded Vet Ride went off again, and we had 4 of us that went. There were 2 other bikes there, for a total of 6. They were very discouraged. And us too. Jennifer was really hoping to see you there. You made a really good impression, and was, apparently, a really good ambassador for our group. THANK YOU! This year, we actually co-sponsored the event. We produced 6 bikes and we used the Tahoe for the chase/safety car.
They got a total of 105 bikes and 3 cages, plus the chase car in the ride this year. Very successful this time.
And it looks like we are likely going to be co-sponsors on it again for the next few years, as long as we maintain a good relationship with Jesse and Jennifer. They are fabulous kids, and they are dedicated to their mission.

And no, 2 to 6 at a meeting does not make us happy. We've been working on this thing up here in the north end for five solid years now. For some reason, we just can't seem to get good traction up here. We have a "build-up" strategy that we're working, IF we can figure out what we need to do to get our numbers up. So far, THAT has been the hardest part. That is the whole reason for the "Family Day / Meet & Greet" in conjunction with the July meeting.

We have no idea what kind of turn out we're going to have, but we're gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

One thing I can say is that we have a small crew, but we are dedicated to the mission. THAT is MY encouragement to keep trying. And yes, we know that when something is needed, we can count on the others to lend a hand, even though we are scattered over the northern 1/3 of the state.

Our new Chaplain likely won't get back from his vacation in time to be with us on the 27th, but he's gonna try to make at least part of it. And even knowing that he may not be there, he still put out the effort to get out and locate the facility for our outing.

This is the kind of crew we have now. It's the kind of crew that almost anyone would be proud to be a part of. When something is in the works, you can pretty much count on them to be there, and I'm damn proud to have them around me.

That is the kind of crew member you are. Or you were till your skooter went down. And that is why we want and need you back!

Yeah, we've had some disappointments, and there have been some p*****' contests in other parts of the state, but we've not had those kinds of problems up here. And if that is the trade-off of staying small, that's good with me. I'd much rather stay small and not have all the turmoil the "flat-landers" had and still be effective in our mission. But, we're still gonna' try to get our numbers up a bit more. We're trying to "eat an elephant" here, and the only way to do that is one bite at a time.

Come on out on the 27th and look the new crew over. I think you'll like what you find!

HG, you can't hear my ride but you can see the yellow bastard. Besides no one ever said, "hey did you see that black motorcycle?" LOL! Terry, hope to meet you. One vet to another thanks for your service. A correction though, I live in Dacula but I am in Athens often as we have good friends out that way. Anything you got going on, if I am in town count me in. I ride for the wind therapy and am politically active because that is the only way to make changes happen. 6-8 really persistent voices can do a lot more than many people believe. Stay the course!!

Terry, My memory isn't the greatest.  I am super busy at work and it wipes me out, so forgive me if I don't remember our meetings.  Yes, the attendance at the monthly meetings is dismaying, but it takes dedication from riders like you and I to make it work.  If we build it, they will come... or so the saying goes.  Still looking forward to seeing you at the lake on the 27th.

Well I rode to the Macon wounded Warrior ride alone I didn't have anyone with me as I recall John I know that you work crazy hours and as you know with your help we set up countless events that me you and Karen were the only one's there, And at this point anyone can have the R/C spot as I have no skoot at this time so it really doesn't matter any way. Lee my rant as you call it, was a reply to your post that you made prior to mine thank you and yes we have met at a couple of meetings at the Kilt. For a while I didn't have any transportation  so I haven't been able to get to any of the events for that reason. So I am assuming that the 2 to 6 people makes you feel good at an event? I personally found it off putting when there are so many people signed up in Ga. Oh I was at the 2nd amendment rally that there was 4 bikes 4bikes that is it if no other event that one should have over flowed the street at the capital.

Brother Terry, I just checked the top of the page.
You are still listed in the Road Captain spot. Nobody has kicked you to the side.
We've been missing you, and we need you.
Why the hell do you think I keep calling and checking up on you?!?
I don't do it just to waste my breath. I do it because I still care, and still give a damn!
There are a couple others we've been missing and needing too that we haven't seen in quite a while.
And you know the kinds of hours I work. Stupid hours! I've made it to a couple of Athens events you got together. The rest I could't make because I couldn't get off work in time to make it.
We now have a very active member right in Athens. Chester Hale. Great guy. My only question is the color of the Gold Wing he rides. Not may favorite, but hey, at least he is quite visible on that 'school bus yellow"skooter!

Nobody can make you do anything, nor would we ever try. But we've been needing you and want you back in. And nobody has ever mentioned moving you out of the Road Captain spot, because we've been hoping you would be able to get back! You are still listed on the private "Active Members" FaceBook Page, and have posting priviledges on the public page!
You haven't been removed from, or moved out of anything!
The only spot we have somewhat replaced if the Chaplain. We've not heard a thing from the one listed on this page for almost 3 years. I've seen him at two Capitol events, very briefly, but he was with another group, and not wearing SOLR colors. We have now installed our own 'N. Ga. Chaplain", and are considering him for the state spot.

We would like it very much is you would drop in and see us on the 27th and enjoy the day with us. We want, and need ya', brother!

Terry, I've been participating for a little over 2 years now.  I've been to just about every meeting (I think I missed ONE).  So, have we ever met?  I just ask, because right off hand, I can't remember.  I do know that in the last year, we have gone to Oathkeeper rallies, 2nd Amendment Rallies, The Georgia Senatorial debates in Macon and Savannah.  We have gone on 2 annual rides for wounded vets.  At least one musical rally and several personal rides.  We have 2 events in the works right now.  The July Meeting where we will also have a cookout and some water fun by Lake Altoona and a ride I highly recommend joining called the Pledge Ride.  What has kept you from these events?

I get that you have had a bad experience in the past.  Honestly, I think it was before I joined up and so I can do nothing about it.  I suspect neither can you.  So, the only question we have is what are you going to do about it now?  Are you going to continue to live in the past?  Or live in the present and work toward the future?

If you have "moved on", I get that.  But then I have to ask why the rant after all this time?  You have to be the primary part of the solution in any given problem.  Sometimes s*** happens, but laying it at the feet of others does not resolve the issues.

Come to the next meeting.  We'd love to have you and I would be happy to welcome a brother back.  Info is in the link below.

Lee it's so reminiscent of the year I posted the same comments over and over and over other states have a real group of riders maybe they just all go to the same church and they happen to ride bike so they just get together as SOLR for there gatherings then down a member in Georgia for wanting to do a membership drive in there state because they didn't like the type of people that went to the rally well that just pissed me the f*** off that happened to a Georgia captain/coordinator that member had just come home from the sand box to get that for his service, so just a question for anyone has Don or Dan or any state or national leadership ever been to a meeting any where in Georgia?? Aside from me then get kicked of my spot as the state R/C by another member  so now because of the fact that I lost a cylinder on my bike because of getting trapped on 285 it's fine with me. I clocked up 1000's of miles riding to north Georgia all the time and every time I had something going on here in the Athens area or any other event that I set up I was the only one to show up countless times so I said f*** it !!!!!!!
