We thank all of our Brothers and Sisters from SoLR, ALR, and all others who rode up to be part of our annual Benghazi-Twin Towers Memorial Ride and Program on Saturday.

To save our Constitutional Republic, we must never forget these events, those who serve now, those who have served, and those who gave their lives for our freedom.

But even more important is that we teach this to our children and grandchildren, so that the tradition of patriotism remains alive in their hearts.

Men do not die until they are forgotten

And Yes, Hillary, it DOES make a difference!

Certainly hope you will be able to ride with us on September 9.  You and our Georgia Brothers are always welcome.  The ride this year is 35 miles and will end up at the Journey Church in Murphy, NC, where there will be FOOD, events, and a great program.

Good morning John ....

Certainly hope you can be part of the ride this year.  Thanks for posting this up.  Judging from the time of your post (~2AM), you're a night stalker :)

If anyone can make it to the Benghazi Memorial Ride in Hiawassee, hosted by the NC chapter, please do so.
I plan to be there if I don't have to work. Unfortunately, I won't know about my availability until the Friday evening before. I will post my status Friday evening as soon as I know my Saturday schedule.

I have posted the link below.

I typed out a whole event suggesting we do an over night trip to ride the tail of the dragon and tried to post it under events. Now can't find where it saved to if it did indeed save. So not knowing where to post, I am posting it on NC and SC pages. I have been informed that my wife has not had the "opportunity" to ride the tail of the dragon with me. So I we will be planning a trip some time after Constitution Week. I am proposing that SOLR join us some where near the Dragon and stay over night. There are  several campgrounds that also  have rental cabins. My intention is for this to be during the week. I apologize for all those who have to work during the week and can't get time off. One of the places I found is near Deals Gap and has the cheapest rates. I know nothing about it. Brookside

There is also a camp ground that has mini cabins for only $25 a night, which is less than most camp site fees

Here is a list of other campgrounds near the Tail of the Dragon if some one has suggestions.

If any one has a specific date that works for them, we will make every  effort to use those dates.  At this point the calendar is open for suggestions.  Also, any suggestions on the best place to stay is appreciated, but I will be staying in a fifth wheel camper for at least two nights. Also Cade's Cove is not far and might be considered for an extended stay. Say , more than two nights. The Townsend camp grounds might be better choices in that case.  some additional info.

It appears that the run of the north Georgia Missing Man Tribute has come to an end, as we could not locate any Gold Star/Blue Star families to participate.

We may revisit this project later this year concerning the 2018 season.

We have a few things in the works that need development over the next few weeks.

There is a "Unity Rally" scheduled for Wednesday, 29 March, noon to 3pm at the State Capitol Building, hosted by the Lanier Tea Party organization. They would like a speaker to represent SOLR, if anyone can make it.
Unfortunately, most of us have jobs and Wednesdays are not good for anyone.

We also have the Bomber Girls Ladies Riding Club hosting the Wheels and Warriors Bike and Car Show in Newnan, Ga. on 22 April, 9am - 3pm. SOLR is supposed to have the Missing Man Tribute at this event. Unfortunately, this is not yet put together.
IF we are able to pull this together again this year, we need more dates to add to the summer calendar.

Also in the idea/planning stages are educational events for Independence Day and Constitution Day. I (HG) am in contact with some folks who have the resources to help pull these together.

I would like to have a meeting by the end of March to discuss/plan these events.

I will be in touch with everyone very soon.
