Agenda 5--Abolish the IRS, Repeal the 16th Amendment, Implement Fair Tax

Implement the Fair Tax.The FairTax Plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue replacement, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment. This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25/S13) abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax – administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities. The IRS is disbanded and defunded. The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

16th Amendment

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Statement from Americans For Fair Taxation® on the passing of chairman and co-founder

Leo E. Linbeck, Jr.

FairTax® giant devoted the past 20 years to championing fair and transparent federal taxation

HOUSTON, TX – June 8, 2013 – Americans For Fair Taxation® (AFFT) announced today the passing of its Chairman and Co-founder Leo Edward Linbeck, Jr.

“The American people have lost a giant who championed simple and fair taxation for everyone,” said Cynthia T. Canevaro, AFFT national campaign manager. “Leo Linbeck, Jr., has devoted 20+ years passionately advocating for fair and transparent federal taxation for all citizens regardless of income or social standing.  He was committed to replacing the income tax, a system that favors special interests while punishing taxpayers at every level, with a national consumption tax that taxes citizens not on what they earn, but on what they spend on new goods and services.”  The Plan includes the repeal of the 16th Amendment and the elimination of the IRS.

Linbeck was a nationally known Houston businessman and philanthropist.  He was a longtime Chairman of Linbeck Construction Corp., a firm founded by his father in 1938 and ranked in 2012 by ENR as the sixth largest building contractor in the U.S. specializing in general building construction for the private sector.  At the time of his death, he also served as Chairman of Aquinas Corporation, a holding company for the Linbeck Group.

In 1995, Linbeck joined forces with Robert C. McNair, founder, chairman and CEO of the Houston Texans NFL team, and Jack Trotter (now deceased), to found Americans For Fair Taxation®.  The grassroots organization works relentlessly to build national support for the FairTax®, a national consumption tax plan that treats every person equally and allows American businesses to thrive while generating the same tax revenue as the current four-million-plus word income tax code.

“Leo Linbeck recognized 20 years ago the destructive nature of the income tax and how unfair, overly complex, and impossible it is to administer.” said Canevaro. “He poured his time, resources, energy and unwavering passion into advancing the FairTax; a system that allows Americans to keep their whole paycheck while only paying taxes on what they spend, not what they earn.”  She added,  “We have truly lost an American hero and Patriot, one whose vision will live on among FairTax supporters nationwide. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Bette, the entire Linbeck family and the legion of friends who now mourn his passing.”

Your Congressman needs your help!
(Since Obama is touting the vote getting $9 dollar an hour minimum wage law,  Here is a proposal I am suggesting. Your comments are welcome. ds)
He is about to be put in a position to vote yah or nay for the minimumn wage to be nationally $9. per hour. This is a loose - loose vote.  Many do not understand the consequence of raising the minimun wage and think it is only Fair.  These people will be angry with any one who votes against the raise.  Others understand that an increase in minimun wage simply  increases the taxes everyone pays and begins a new episode of inflation.  Any time the Government gets involved with free markets,  it never works out the way those who think with their heart expect it to turn out.

No matter which way your congressman votes, he will be demonized by a large section of the voting public. so to solve your Congressman's problem, tell him to instead, before he has to vote,  tell the public that he is NOT for Government intervention and instead wants the Government to get out of the way of Free markets and let EVERYONE keep all of their pay check.

No tax taken out is WAY better than  an increas in minimumn wage.

Tell congress to pass the FairTax (H.R. 25) so that EVERYONE gets 100% of their pay check.

"FairTax Act Beats $9.00 Min. Wage"
$9 min. wage, after worker's paycheck taxes, nets about $7.02, take-home pay...
... The FairTax Act, HR25/S122, ... allows worker to take home ALL of their $7.25 wage!!!!! ... will fix it! Pass it on...

The biggest objection I get from people about the FairTax is when tehy say " yeah but then I have to pay tax on my rent, or my plumber, or services.    It is extremely important to point out that the FairTax is a REPLACEMENT for the taxes they are already paying. You have to make them understand that when you only get your pay check AFTER the tax has been taken out,,, you are paying those taxes on Rent, electrician , plumber and Services,,,,, BEFORE you get the services. FairTax allows you to know where your tax money is going. (unfortunate not where it is spent after the Government gets it, but that will be the next step)
