There have been a fair amount of questions about how to get a back patch, first of all national leadership doesn't really like us calling them back patches they are actually our logo (remember we are not a MC or a RC ) but most people do call them patches.

Number one be involved, I know it's not easy for everyone to be on the web site all the time or as much as you might like but when there are fairly large distances between us this is how we get to know each other.

Number two on the main page of the web site that there are all kinds of Sons of liberty riders gear that you can purchase to get our name out there, there are small patches that are very nice, and look good on the front of a vest.  There are T shirts long and short sleeves, and sweatshirts.  I wanna make it clear that this organization nor any one in it makes a dime off of any of those sales it is all third party.  In fact if you put the code in you get a 20% discount off of all their products and they sell some really nice stuff, other than the sons of liberty riders gear.  There are also the flags and other items that you can purchase.  It shows me your commitment to SOLR if you have a few tee shirts and other things for you and maybe your lady and you're not just here for a patch.

Don't take offense because I'm sure you can understand there are a lot of people out there that just want the patch.  And I won't just hand them out to anyone until I've gotten to know you.  Some of us that are far apart are gonna have to get to know each other here on this web site.  With this not being riding season it's a bad time to be starting up I know.

Number three try to make it to events.  Have your own event if you're close, a few counties apart.  You can have a district meeting.  It only takes two.  :-) take pictures learn how to post and if I see sons of liberty riders T shirts that too will make an impression.

For those of you on the far corners of the state I understand it will be difficult for us to get together but I would love to see two or three brothers getting together on their own. If I can possibly be there I will. I personally went to four out of state events before I felt I had earned mine.  It was different then, we had no activity in this state so to get involved I had to do some traveling which luckily I was able to do.

One thing I'd like to add is if you go to the link above four SOLR flyers you can print out business cards or fliers also are you can go to the UPS store and they will print them out for you in sheets very cheaply if you cut them out yourself and they look really nice.  All you have to do is log on their computer and they can take it from there we did it in Sturgis it was pretty cheap it's nice to have something to hand out you can also modify them to put your name and your county on them if you're handy that way

New Members please read

If you are NEW to SOLR:

  1. Join your state page, scroll down. Click on the name of your state and "JOIN".
  2. Contact the State President or leader.  NOT ALL STATES HAVE ONE.  If you are in a state that doesn't have leadership, get involved and try and reach out to the other members on the page.  Find another person who can help you get something going....then get involved.
  3. Read the by-laws, participate in the chat, reply to articles, and learn the ropes of how the site works.
  4. If you have a question post it in the chat room.  Someone should be able to answer it for you there.  If not contact your state leader or post it as a Discussion.
  5. Have fun and get involved politically!  While we are mostly "riders" many are not and our mission is POLITICAL 1st.....

We do have shirts available.

Back Logos are only available through your State President.....they will explain...and work with new members on "how" you go about getting one.
