We are proud to have been part of the effort to defeat the anti-gun legislation in NM.  This is an excellent example of how we can win battles and the war by acting together.  The Second Amendment is the constitutional guarantor of individual freedom.

We are always happy to join with our brothers and sisters to fight to protect our constitutional republic against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Now, come on up and join us for the Rolling Thunder Ride in D.C. over Memorial Day weekend.  It's the 30th Anniversary RT ride.  SoLR has reduced rate rooms at the same hotel and we have activities for the weekend and we ride together on the Sunday ride.

Looking forward to Multi-State Duck Tape! Will go on there and RSVP. Wow, our 4th Annual already and such an awesome time for all! WE are family and our family time is so very important for each of us!

Status of anti-gun proposed legislation: Dead. Voted against 7-6. The anti-gun bills here in NM were lumped together and spawned a "dummy bill" of HB548.. NMSOLR, with our President, Bacon, led the charge to have this bill defeated. It was quite a me on this. A gazillion of hours, miles for us in rural NM and boots on the ground were spent. Many of us lost sleep.. Opponents of this legislation far out numbered us, Deuce said we were "out gunned" you might say and we still won. We had no budget to "pay" people to hustle calls and petitions.. yet we prevailed. His will that we hold our Rights. Thank you everyone that called and wrote letters for us. "Gun control" does not reduce crime..look at all of the "gun control cities" across our land. Law abiding gun owners stood to lose. We gathered our rancher friends, gun store owners, sport shoot operations and rural NM citizens to Stand with us. We will not leave our guard down.. Bloomberg and Soros truly are continuing to dump money across our great nation to "disarm" the American people. Yes Acta non Verba. Proud of my NMSOLR Brothers and Sisters.

Talk to everyone soon! AZ

I would like to thank those of you who sent letters and/or called our Governor Martinez. It may have help because they seem to be in a quandary about these bills now.. I for one was glad to see other Patriots from across this Great country join us in this fight. It may not be over but we will NEVER stop fighting for the Constitution of the United States of America!!!! God Bless you all!!

To our NM Brothers in Sons of Liberty Riders:

I just sent the following letter to your Governor, and I wholeheartedly support this effort to protect our constitutional rights.

Dr. Dan

Dear Governor Martinez,

The New Mexico legislature is considering two pieces of legislation (SB48 and HB50) that place restrictions on gun ownership and transfers.
The onerous regulations contained in these bills punish law-abiding citizens, will not prevent criminals from obtaining guns, and are deemed unenforceable by numerous county sheriffs in your state.

Respectfully, I request that you VETO this legislation if it is presented to you for signature.

Our nation’s founders clearly understood the Natural Law Right of self-protection when they included the Second Amendment in our Bill of Rights.  The four most important words in the Second Amendment are “shall not be infringed”, and this legislation clearly prevents the free exercise of those constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Individual freedom rests on the Second Amendment, and, as reference to its importance, I provide a quote from Adolph Hitler who said, “In order to conquer a nation, you must first disarm its people.”

Because you are known for your steadfast leadership and commitment to our Constitution, I am certain that you will VETO this unconstitutional legislation.

Thanks for sending this initiative out to us all.  We're definitely interested in what happens in NM.  I just sent this letter to your Governor and I'll be encouraging our membership to do the same. Please keep us updated.

Dear GOVERNOR Martinez,

On the subject of gun regulation and the two proposed pieces of legislation in the New Mexico Congress (HB50, SB48) I respectfully ask that you VETO this legislation.  However well intended the sponsors of these bills, the desired outcome can never be achieved for two reasons. First of all, criminals will NOT obey this law and even if enacted, it will NEVER restrict their access to weapons.  Secondly, the transfer of arms is part and parcel of our right to own firearms.  Any further attempt to regulate guns by the state or federal gov't infringes upon our constitutionally protected rights of gun ownership.

Gun owners (and constitutional advocates) living outside New Mexico are keenly interested in this issue.  I'm certain you will support the 2nd amendment rights of the lawful gun owners in your state and not allow this legislation to become law.  Thank you for your excellent leadership and steadfast commitment to uphold the Constitution

Pres, Sons of Liberty Riders

NMSOLR needs YOU, all SOLR Members and State Leadership positions if you are opposed to "gun control." If you carry a firearm for protection, hunt, shoot sport, farm or ranch, we need you.

There is unconstitutional gun control legislation that is currently being pushed,(quite swiftly,) that requires veto from NM Governor, Susanna Martinez.  Please call, email or write and voice your concerns if you are opposed to the erosion of your CONSTITUTIONAL rights. If it passes here in NM will be headed to other states.

The bills in question are : SB48 and HB50. Please click these links for bill language: New Mexico SB48   and companion bill New Mexico HB50 These bills are under the cover of "back ground checks," please read further, they reach much deeper. Our nation currently has a background check system in place. Law abiding gun owners typically do not commit crimes. Criminals do not purchase their firearms legally, we do ..criminals typically steal their firearms or buy/ trade privately with drugs or other illicit money for stolen firearms.

The vast majority of  County Sheriffs Offices in NM are with us in opposition of these bills, that the bills, if turned into law, will be unenforceable.

Please help your SOLR Brothers and Sisters by contacting our NM Governor.

This is NOT just a NM issue, it is an American issue and our understanding is that these bills are Bloomberg driven. Please click here to Contact NM Governor, Susanna Martinez and voice your opposition and that she MUST Veto. Please let the governor know that you are with Sons of Liberty Riders. We are highly respected by all levels of government here in NM.

NMSOLR Leadership and Members continue to attend hearings concerning the above, we write, call and visit our legislators often and are closely monitoring these bills and need YOUR support.

This is what WE as Sons of Liberty Riders are about, we are Acta Non Verba and powerful when combined as ONE group. Let's show our power. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter, we are very concerned. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact any NMSOLR Officer. Thank you
