I feel your frustration, but the Convention of States is definitely not the answer for many reasons.  I have participated in several debates on that subject, always on the "anti-COS" side.  No one on their side was ever able to convince me that the COS was a good idea.

If you read Article V, there are no rules that govern how such a convention would be conducted.  Carefully examining the phrases and punctuation marks allows you to see that, once 34 states ask for the convention, Congress sets it up and makes the rules.  In essence, Congress would determine number of delegates per state, voting rules, credential rules, etc,.  For instance, does each state get one vote or are votes determined by congressional delegation size?

The second and real danger is the totally biased media and street mobs that would force certain issues to be approved even if they aren't on the "agenda".  Most constitutional scholars also say that, once the convention is assembled, the delegates can deal with whatever issues they want as there are no rules to the contrary in Article V.

A fictional account about this subject can be found in Matt Bracken's "Foreign Enemies and Traitors", the third book in his Enemies Trilogy.  The progressives used the COS to completely do away with our Constitution and replace it with a progressive one world socialist constitution.

Essentially, our own Constitution was the result of a COS engineered to get rid of the Articles of Confederation.  It's true that the Articles weren't working, so Congress authorized a convention to "amend" the Articles.  The Constitutional Convention scrapped the Articles and wrote our Constitution.  Moreover, under the Articles, it required unanimous consent to amend them.  Only 12 of the 13 states even attended the Constitutional Convention, and the new rule was that only 9 ratifying states were needed to adopt the new Constitution.

I am afraid that would happen under a COS scenario.

I complete agree Dr. Dan. At first I was not supportive of the Convention of states because of the possibility of us loosing control once enacted. But, I am slowly changing my mind. If the "republicans" don't get on board fast, that my be our only political option to save the U.S.   Just a thought

We are all watching "re-runs" and have nothing to use to change the channel.  With the Democrats, they promise 5% of what I want and deliver 5%.  The GOP promises 95% of what I want but only delivers 50% at best.  The SWAMP will never be drained by any conventional method.  We have tried them all without success.  Fire them?  How?  We have too many GOP who would rather elect an establishment Rhino regardless of the perpetual broken promises and flat-out lies.  The joke is on us - no one in D.C. follows constitutional law.  Most of what they do is at least unconstitutional if not immoral and illegal.

Face it.  We cannot control with our votes politicians who are elected with money from outside our districts.

Sorry Shipp, I think it has become painfully obvious.. The "Republican Party" has abandoned the American People and joined the Anti- American Democrat party. The SWAMP is Broad and DEEP. Put a dress on Tillis and you have Hillary, put a dress on "Rhino" Ryan (and pull that one pubic hair), you have Pelosi. If they do not support the constitution, FIRE Them ALL!  Just a thought.

I posted this on SC yesterday. is coming up September 15 thru 17. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I am one of the speakers and could use a part time assistant, if any one is interested in helping to man a booth in exchange for a free ticket. $75. value. One of the highlights is Bill Forestner will be there Sunday evening for an "intimate" question and answer period. This is the author of the three books that start with 'One second After' and then 'One year after' I will likely have a fifth wheel camper on site or nearby for sleeping. Also, There are still some tent sites available.

TOWN HALL Alert.  Congressman Mark Meadows is having a TH event on Mon, Aug 7 at the Blue Ridge Comm College (Hendersonville). Protesters and antagonists are expected at the event.  Professionals agitators may be bused in.  He could use our help.  REP Meadows is a patriot warrior.  HE runs the Freedom Caucus and the LEFT hate him.  He will have his own security, but we need to be there as a shield.  You've seen these punk agitators at other events. They're loud and obnoxious.  Of course, the media will be there!  We're not going to there to confront anyone, just to be a positive presence in support of our congressman.  I plan to be at the college at 4PM.   I hope several members will find a way to come as well.  Ride your bike, wear your patch!  Full details on the event at the link below.
