NOTE CHANGE IN JUNE RIDE DATE TO JUNE 16 DUE TO CONFLICT

MEETING REPORT: SOUTHEAST REGION SOLR (NC, SC, GA, TN)

We had our first regional meeting Saturday March 17 in Horseshoe, NC. About 15 members were present in addition to representatives from Joshua’s Warriors.  Our discussion centered around forming partnerships with patriotic, Christian, veteran, and liberty-minded activist groups to have a more powerful impact on our communities. We can still maintain our individual group identity but ride together for common causes.  We have common goals and must join forces to protect our nation and our own individual freedom.

Our goal must be to form bonds of fellowship and patriotism among all our groups.

We are planning TWO MAJOR EVENTS for the 2018 season in addition to fun rides and social events throughout spring, summer, and fall. MARK DOWN THESE DATES.

FLAG DAY PATRIOT’S AND VETERANS’ RIDE AND EVENT – Saturday June 16

Tentative Theme: STAND UP FOR AMERICA AND THE FLAG

  • Escorted Ride originates in Hiawassee GA through Hayesville (NC), Murphy (NC), and Blairsville (GA) ending up at the main pavilion at Meeks Park
  • Food, Music, Patriotic Program, and Fellowship
  • Participating Groups (so far) – SoLR, Joshua’s Warriors, ALR 23, ALR 121
  • Ride Chaplain – Pastor Pat
  • Combined Ride In and Drive In Event

ANNUAL BENGHAZI – TWIN TOWERS MEMORIAL RIDE & EVENT

Saturday Sept 15

  • Escorted Ride originates in Hiawassee GA through Hayesville, Murphy, and Blairsville ending up at the main pavilion at Meeks Park
  • Food, Patriotic Program, and Fellowship
  • Ride Chaplain – Pastor Pat
  • Participation of SoLR, Joshua’s Warriors, ALR 23, ALR 121, and other groups
  • Combined Ride In and Drive In Event
  • Associated exhibits anticipated

ADDITIONAL RIDES

I would like to encourage Southeast Region SoLR groups to plan rides of any kind originating in your local areas during other months. I will personally extend invitations to ALR 23, ALR 121, and other groups to participate.  In addition, I will also coordinate invitations to Southeast Region SoLR groups to participate with ALR rides and will post event information on the Team App and Southeast SoLR websites.

So far, the weather doesn't want to cooperate for Saturday's meet up, at least on my forecast meter.  Better than 50/50 chance of rain and cool.  Al Evans and I were planning to ride up together, though we may have take the truck.  No matter, still planning to make it unless it's re-scheduled.

NC Brother and Sisters.

I sent the following to our SC Brothers.  They are talking about a lunch ride.  What do you think?

SC Brothers

We would love to get together with y'all for a lunch ride.  We had our Christmas party in Canton, NC, at the Pigeon River Grille.  The food was very good, reasonably priced, and they have a private room for "parties".   Pigeon River Grille, 101 Park St, Canton NC 28716 co-located with Bear Waters Brewing Company.

If that doesn't appeal to you, suggest a different location.  I am not sure we can count on good weather in February.  Daylight saving time starts March 11.  How about March 17 or 24?  March 31 is Easter weekend.

We would also like to do a Patriot's Day Ride April 21.  I think there are some Revolutionary War battle sites near you that could be a nice ride and visit.  What do you think?

I think it's very important that we form a "Tri-State" bond by riding and meeting together.

Brothers and Sisters of the Sons of Liberty Riders

It is time to wake up and become activists again to save our nation.  The forces of socialist globalism never sleep, so neither can we.  It is time to saddle up as the original Sons of Liberty did and restore our Constitutional Republic.

What did the FISA Memo say

Michael

That is one of our greatest challenges.  We have lost two generations of young people to progressive indoctrination.  We were taught to amass facts, verify them as accurate, and then draw logical conclusions from them.  The progressives have taught our kids that emotion beats facts and logic.  Our primary tool (logical discourse), therefore, is ineffective.

My best approach has been to discuss the effect of progressive policy on the individual and the resulting loss of individual freedom.  We no longer have the USSR as an example of socialism/communism to show them, but many of them will be swayed by the "individual freedom" argument; i.e., do you want government making decisions for YOU about your future?  Do you want government deciding your future for you?  Most want independence but don't understand that big government steals free choice from people.

Another argument involves achievement of individual effort.  Most understand that, if they study for an exam and others do not, everyone shouldn't get the same grade.

Thanks Dr. Dan, Same to you.  Unrelated question ... with progressives thinking tax cuts are Armageddon and repeal of Net Neutrality is Apocalyptic ... I've tried engaging these folks and suggesting that any move to reduce the power of gov't over us is a good thing.  I'll tell you though, our public schools have done a great job of convincing people that pure and benevolent gov't is the solution to all problems caused by evil and malevolent corporations.  Frankly, it's like speaking to Greek to them.  How on earth does one get through to one whose eyes are slammed shut.
