The Support Patch information is back.  Thanks to Ox for finding it (and reminding me of the "WayBack Machine http://archive.org/web/).

Lou retired and ran to Florida in November, but still wants to handle the patches:

I believe it is good so many of us want to reach out & help those in need, even when we might be in need ourselves. This shows the true content of a persons soul.

Our local communities know who we are and what we stand for. Chris is correct in his wording. Building a foundation within your community is vital in the liberty movement.it has to start from home.

SOLR "rides in support of like minded groups," be it TEA Party groups or Wounded Warriors (in AL).  Let's find a group that is either national in scope, like Wounded Warriors for a big ride, or local groups for multiple rides throughout the season.

Since the primary focus is on helping the Vets, I think it is best that we don't create events that compete for the time and resources of the riding community. If there are existing local events that we can support during the season, adding our bikes to these events would make an impact.  An impact, not only for the individual cases, but an impact in our name recognition with local groups

And, specific individuals can be adopted - as OH District 3 has done with Blaze and his family. [Many kudos]

To the Ohio members: if you find these causes, bring them to the Ohio Spring meeting, or get the information to me before the April meeting.  We need to look at them as see which ones we can support.

In the end the reason that we are becoming involved in these issues is that the large central government, and its standing army, that our founders warned us about does not care about its subjects.  We believe that local communities know their needs best.  And, that by joining together, citizens can best meet their needs, not Federal bureaucrats.  Participating in these events gives us the chance to introduce these principles to a new audience.

If we all brainstorm I believe there isn't anything we can't accomplish

T.Bone - I really like that idea as well.  For the same reasons. I am all for SOLR visibility.  It also makes us look like what we are a National Organization.  Lets put our heads together and see what and how we can make this happen.

One of my thoughts was to visit each state capitol, this would require some riding and a lot of miles. But, I am Game, not sure how others will feel about it.

Another was to contact Patriot Guard Riders in each state, VFW as well to see if they would participate, and how.

  3. Read the by-laws, participate in the chat, reply to articles, and learn the ropes of how the site works.
  4. If you have a question post it in the chat room.  Someone should be able to answer it for you there.  If not contact your state leader or post it as a Discussion.
  5. Have fun and get involved politically!  While we are mostly "riders" many are not and our mission is POLITICAL 1st.....

We do have shirts available.  http://americanlibertyriders.ning.com/page/solr-tshirts

Back Logos are only available through your State President.....they will explain...and work with new members on "how" you go about getting one.
