Lock washers that work -- better than LockTite.

A few months ago my Evo started leaking - badly -  between the primary and engine block. I assumed it was a ruptured gasket, since it does have over 100k on the clock. Pulled the outer cover and discovered that bolts holding the inner cover to the engine block had backed out, one of them even getting chewed by the primary chain. Gasket looked good, but I replaced it anyway.

Went back with Heico lock washers, same as Nord Lockers. Also, used them to tighten sissy bar. Used to tighten sissy bar every 2-3 weeks - yes, even when I used Loctite (blue). Haven't had to tighten it since using the wedge lockers - no loctite - been over 6 months!

See Junker Test video.

I had to order them from Fastenal. But I don't think that primary cover will ever come loose again.

RIP Flying Doctor - Dr. John Hinds - The Fastest Road Racing Doctor

I came across this video earlier this week, and have watched it twice so far.  Until recently, I hadn't realized that road racing was done beyond the Isle of Mann TT.  Discovering that a doctor would travel 100+ MPH over glorified golfcart paths to save lives is humbling, to say the least.

I took mine to a local glass company. I didn't have them do cut-outs though. Bet it wouldn't be much harder for them. Cost me $40.00.

Anybody ever customized a windshield ? I added some driving lights and will need to cut out some of the windshield to fit around them. I rarely use it but would like to be able to have it ready if I need it. It is a detachable shield.
