Don't we want a constitutionalist in office?
Gary Johnson has been a consistent advocate for limited, efficient government and personal liberty. An outspoken pro-Constitution libertarian, Johnson opposes American involvement in foreign conflicts with no clear U.S. interest. He opposes the failed multi-billion dollar war on drugs and demands greater transparency at the Federal Reserve. Johnson advocates cutting federal spending dramatically to achieve a balanced budget and make government live within its means without raising taxes. This is nothing radical! These are all spelled out in our constitution of these United States.
He believes real job creation and economic opportunity can be best achieved through smaller government and less regulation. He advocates ending the IRS and income tax, by passing HR 25. The National Review rated Johnson as "#1" in job creation as governor. An avid skier and bicyclist, he has reached the highest peaks on six of the seven continents, including Mount Everest.
So I ask again, What part don't you like?? ? So Why didn't you vote for him ??
Is it because he ran as a Libertarian and every one knows a Libertarian can't win. Since when do you let some one else think for you? Many of those same people claim to be against the system of parties. and yet they call them selves conservative? Is it that we must have a label? It must be a winning label? Is a label some thing different from a party? Speaking of conservative, What does that even mean? Are you a Pleoconservative? If so, does that mean you are a classical conservative? Are you a Neoconservative? May be you think you are a social conservative? Fiscal conservative? What are you? What are your values ? Those "conservative" candidates don't want you to think. They don't want you to consider what YOU value. They simply want a vague term which will bring in the most voters.
Republicans are the conservatives, Democrats are the Liberals. What are you?
(Some ones else s attempt to define conservative: http://usconservatives.about.com/od/conservativepolitics101/tp/Are-...)
Why put a label on your self that is undefinable or at the very least, vague.
Why not use some thing concise, which states exactly what you believe.
Why not, constitutionalist.
But,,, If you are going to label yourself a constitutionalist, can you bring yourself to vote for the candidate that advocates restoring the constitution? Vote for the right candidate. Forget about parties.
One other small point. If just ten percent vote for a the third party candidate for their Governor or president, in your state, your state then has the third party on the ballot in the next election. That is a huge savings for that third party. That makes just ten percent, a win! The next election will be even easier because the other two parties will then be on the defensive.
FYI; Did you know that Lincoln was the last third party candidate to win a presidential election? How come we never hear about the whigs, any more.
